Des Taylor will be no stranger to viewers of Clean River Productions. In this film, Des turns his first love to Barbel Fishing on the river.
A native of Worcestershire it only seemed fitting that he should choose as the location the beautiful River Teme, which winds its way out of Wales to meet the mighty River Severn just outside of Worcestershire.
Since their introduction to the River Severn the barbel has travelled downstream and into the Teme in their thousands and each year they get bigger.
In this film Des looks particularly at baits, methods and swims, highlighting likely looking spots. He shows us how to feed the swim and finally he gets amongst them.
If you like Des, enjoy pursuing this hard fighting species, then you need search no further.

This program has already been acclaimed as one of the finest sea angling films ever made – and rightly so. Top boat angler and leading journalist Mike Millman expertly presents the program aboard one of the country’s top boats – Tony Allen’s high-tech Electric Blue. Aided by co-skipper Paul Descome and accompanied by friendly dolphins, they race over the horizon to wrecks more than 50 miles out from Plymouth.
All the Tackle, Rigs and bait are explained in great detail. Then at first, some good ling and cod are boated but it’s not long before the MEAN, MOODY & MAGNIFICENT conger start to feed. One or two eels prove too much to handle and manage to reach the wreck on uncontrollable runs. Tense moments follow as a near 70 pounder tests tackle and still to the limit until it is finally beaten. Several big conger are caught and this superb film ends with fish of not only, 80 and 90 pounds but with Hans Clausen’s magnificent 110 pounder.
